Careers
What coating installers do, what they earn, how to get hired, and our job board for installers and the contractors who need them.

Figures for floor installers in general; on coating crews, pay varies with the market and with experience.
The work
A coating crew turns bare concrete into a finished floor in a day or two. The work is physical, exact and time-boxed: once resin is mixed, it has to be on the floor before it sets.
Our guides to flake floor installation and the equipment show each step.

Getting hired
Experience helps, but most crews hire for reliability and care first, then teach the craft.
Early starts, long days on your knees, and jobs that can't wait once the resin is mixed. A driver's license matters: crews travel to every job.
Respirators, gloves and dust control are part of every day. Grinding concrete produces silica dust that OSHA regulates on construction sites, and resin chemicals can sensitize skin.
Even a short hands-on class shows you know prep, mixing and broadcast basics, so a crew lead can trust you sooner.
Job board
We're building a job board that connects installers and helpers with the coating companies hiring near them. It's free for installers. Leave your state and number and we'll text you when it opens where you live.
Thinking about running your own crew one day? The learning path for installers going out on their own covers what changes when you're the one quoting and selling.
For coating contractors
The board will put your openings in front of people who are already learning the trade. Until it opens, our guide to hiring epoxy floor installers covers pay models, W-2 versus 1099, training and the safety program you need before the first day.
Owner: decide posting terms for contractors (the plan: free for installers, paid for contractors once demand is tested).

Hands-on classes near you.
Floor installers in the US earned a median of $27.15 an hour ($56,460 a year) in 2025, and the middle half earned roughly $21.50–34.80 an hour. On coating crews, pay moves with experience, the market and whether you run the crew.
Many crews hire helpers without coating experience and train them on the job, anywhere from a few days to a year. A hands-on class and basic safety knowledge (respirators, silica dust) make you easier to hire and faster to trust with a squeegee.
Licensing rules generally apply to the contracting business that sells and runs the job, not to the employees who install it. If you plan to quote and sell jobs yourself, check your state’s rules on our license requirements page.
It can be without the right controls. Grinding concrete makes respirable crystalline silica dust, which OSHA regulates on construction sites, and epoxy hardeners and some top coats can sensitize skin and lungs. Good crews use dust extraction, respirators and gloves every day.
Coating contractors, franchise and dealer locations, and supplier stores (which know who is hiring) are the usual places. Join our installer list and we will text you when the job board opens in your state.
