About Epoxy Business School

A business school for people starting and running epoxy and concrete-coating companies. We teach the floor and the business that pays for it: recorded installations you can replay in The Epoxy Playbook, two days on real slabs with partner trainers, and a free library of guides, tools and templates.

Mission

Teach the business with the same care as the floor

Our mission is to help people who want to run a coating business learn to install it right and to price, quote, sell, protect and grow it.

A coating company lives or dies on decisions made away from the slab: what to charge for a two-car garage, what to put in the scope of work, what the warranty covers, who to hire and what to pay them. Those decisions can be taught, and they should be taught by people who make them every week.

What we stand behind

  • Full installations recorded start to finish, to watch and replay
  • Seven systems in one curriculum
  • Pages reviewed by a working coating-company owner
  • Zero fake reviews, invented students or territory fees

Why a business school

Most epoxy training teaches the floor. Few teach the business.

Look at who sells epoxy training today and what they teach, and four gaps stand out.

1. Classes lead with application

Most hands-on epoxy classes in the US are run by product suppliers. They teach prep, mixing, flake, metallic, quartz and cove base well. Pricing, quoting, the sales call, warranty terms and hiring get a line in the brochure, if that. Our class comparison lists the classes running today, and supplier classes vs independent schools compares the two models.

2. The business side is sold separately

A few online programs now include business courses, and some business coaching is aimed at coating contractors. There isn't much of it, and it's usually sold separately from hands-on training. We built one school that covers both. See online epoxy courses compared.

3. A class happens once

Two days on a slab go fast, and you leave with your notes and your memory. In The Epoxy Playbook, full installations are recorded start to finish, so you watch every step before class and replay it before your own first job. How the recordings work.

4. State facts are hard to find

Training sites rarely set out licensing rules, classes and setup costs state by state. We do: classes and rules by state and license requirements in every state.

How the school works

One method, partner trainers, state by state

A curriculum from a working coating company's playbook

The curriculum starts from the documents a working coating company runs on: its pricing guide, estimating notes, scope of work, warranty terms, discount rules, sales-call guide, post-sale follow-up and crew pay sheet. We organized them into the Seven Systems of a coating business, and everything on the site hangs off them: the Playbook, the class, the library and the tools.

Partner trainers teach the hands-on classes

Classes are taught by partner trainers: installers who do coating work for a living, and companies that already run classes. Every partner class follows the same two-day curriculum standard, students complete the installation recordings first, and the certificate of completion comes from the school. How partnering works.

Classes open state by state

Classes open with partners where students are asking for them. If you want a class near you, join the waitlist for your state and we'll text you when one opens.

The method

The Seven Systems of a coating business

Every coating company that lasts runs the same seven systems, written down or not.

  1. Set up

Entity, licensing, insurance, equipment and a supplier, in the right order and at the right cost.

  2. Price

A price per square foot and per job that carries your overhead and leaves a profit.

  3. Quote

Measured estimates, a written scope of work and contract terms that hold up.

  4. Sell

The in-home sales call, good-better-best options and the objections you will hear.

  5. Install

Reading the slab, moisture testing, prep, systems and cure, with a job-day checklist.

  6. Protect

Warranty terms you can honor, documentation, and a callback process before you need one.

  7. Grow

Leads by channel and cost, reviews, and hiring the people who let you step off the floor.

  8. The curriculum

How each system is taught: online lessons, templates and two days on the slab.

Who's behind it

Founded by a coating-company owner

Epoxy Business School was started by the owner of a working coating company. The founder writes the curriculum and reviews the guides on this site before they're published. Partner trainers teach the hands-on classes.

Owner: your name, a two-sentence bio (years in coatings, the company you run and where, what you install), and whether the company can be named on the site

We'd rather leave this blank than invent it: the site has no stock photos posing as our team, and no made-up instructors.

Owner: a photo of you, ideally on a job

Our promises

What we will never do

  • Fake reviews or testimonials. No invented students, quotes, class dates or statistics. If we publish reviews, they'll be real ones from real graduates.
  • Push a product line. We don't sell coatings or equipment, and we don't steer you to a brand.
  • Charge territory fees. No franchise, no dealership, no territory. You build your own business under your own name. What franchises charge instead.
  • Sell placements. No paid listings and no affiliate links. Providers in our comparisons are there so you can compare.
  • Promise an income. We teach the business; we don't make earnings claims. See the earnings disclaimer.
  • Text you without consent. Every form asks first, and STOP always works. See the SMS terms.

Questions

About the school: frequently asked questions

More in the full FAQ.

What is Epoxy Business School?

A training company for people starting or growing an epoxy and concrete-coating business. The Epoxy Playbook teaches the installation on recorded video you can replay, along with pricing, quoting and selling the job. Hands-on classes then put you on real slabs with partner trainers who install floors for a living.

Is this a franchise or a dealership?

No. There is no territory fee and no product line you have to buy. You run your business under your own name and buy materials where you choose.

Who teaches the hands-on classes?

Partner trainers: installers who do coating work for a living, or companies that already run classes, in the states where students are asking for a class. Every partner class follows the school’s two-day curriculum standard.

Where is Epoxy Business School based?

The school runs online. The Playbook, the consultation and the free tools work from anywhere in the US, and hands-on classes are held at partner trainers’ venues, opening state by state.

Do you sell coatings or equipment?

No. Epoxy Business School doesn’t sell coatings, equipment or territories, and there are no paid placements or affiliate links on this site. Classes and suppliers we mention are there to help you compare, not because they pay us. How we stay independent.

Who writes the guides on this site?

Pages are drafted with AI assistance, then fact-checked and reviewed by a working coating-company owner before they go live. Our editorial standards explain the process.

Can I teach classes for Epoxy Business School?

If you install coatings for a living, run a supplier store that hosts classes, or already run a training school, you can apply to become a partner trainer. Partners are added state by state, where students are asking for classes. How partnering works.
