Four ways to learn the trade and the business

Use the ones you need. The only fixed rule: the recorded training in The Epoxy Playbook comes before a hands-on class, so your two days go to the slab.

Online

How The Epoxy Playbook works

The Playbook is recorded hands-on training. Full installations are filmed start to finish, prep, grinding, repairs, base coats, flake broadcast and top coats, with the reason for each step explained. You watch on your own schedule and replay any step as often as you like, before your class and after it.

On top of the installation sits the business side: pricing, quoting, selling, warranties and hiring, organized by the Seven Systems of a coating business.

  • A monthly membership; enrollment opens to the founding list first.
  • Required before every hands-on class.
  • Not tied to a coating brand: you buy materials where you choose.

What the Playbook covers

Why recorded first

A class happens once. A recording can be paused on the step you're unsure of and watched again until it makes sense. Seeing every step before class means the trainer spends your two days correcting your technique, not explaining the basics.

And before your first paid job, the steps are still there to replay.

The two-day class standard

  • Day one, the slab: reading the slab, moisture testing, grinding with dust extraction, and repairs.
  • Day two, the coating: base coats, a full-broadcast flake floor, a metallic demonstration, top coats, and a business wrap-up where you price and quote the floor you installed.
  • After class: a certificate of completion from Epoxy Business School. It isn't a license; here's what it means.

How hands-on classes work

Classes are two days on real concrete with a partner trainer: an installer who does coating work for a living, or an established class provider. Every partner class follows the same curriculum standard.

  • State by state. Classes open where students are asking for them. None is scheduled yet; join the waitlist for your state and we'll text you when one opens near you.
  • The Playbook first. Complete the installation recordings before class.
  • Paying over time. Payment plans and third-party financing will be available. How tuition works.

One-on-one

How the consultation works

A 30–45 minute call with someone who owns and runs a coating company. It's a planning call: you bring your numbers and your questions, and you leave with clearer decisions.

  • Your market and which systems to offer
  • Your startup budget: what to buy, what to rent, what can wait
  • A sanity check on your pricing
  • Your training plan: what to learn next, online and on the slab

How to book a call

Free tools and guides

Calculators for startup costs, job pricing, flake, coverage, renting or buying a grinder and lead costs; estimate, scope-of-work, warranty and job-day templates; and a library of guides on every part of the business.

Where to start

Start from where you are

The learning paths show which programs, systems and tools to start with for your situation.

What we don't do

No franchise, no product, no territory

No territory fee

You run your business under your own name, wherever you want to work. Franchises charge for that; here's how much.

No product to buy

Epoxy Business School doesn't sell coatings or equipment. You buy materials from the supplier you choose.

No income promises

What a coating business earns depends on your market, your prices and your costs. We teach the business; we don't promise results (earnings disclaimer).

Questions

How it works: frequently asked questions

More in the full FAQ.

Where should I start?

Start from what you’re missing. If you need the numbers, start with the free startup cost calculator. If you need to learn the installation and the business, start with The Epoxy Playbook. If you want to talk your plan through, book a consultation. The learning paths show where to start for your situation.

Do I need the Playbook before a hands-on class?

Yes, it’s required. You learn every step from the recordings first, so your two days on the slab go to doing the work rather than watching demonstrations.

Who teaches the hands-on classes?

Partner trainers: installers who do coating work for a living, or companies that already run classes, in the states where students are asking for a class. Every partner class follows the school’s two-day curriculum standard.

When will Epoxy Business School classes start?

Classes open state by state. None is scheduled yet. Leave your state and number on the class waitlist and we'll text you when one opens near you.

What happens on the consultation call?

A 30–45 minute one-on-one call with someone who runs a coating company. You cover your market, your startup budget, which systems to offer, a sanity check on your pricing, and your training plan.

Can I pay for a class over time?

Hands-on classes will be offered with payment plans or third-party financing.

Is this a franchise or a dealership?

No. There is no territory fee and no product line you have to buy. You run your business under your own name and buy materials where you choose.

Watch every step before you do it
